This special interest group will explore the sources and resources for researching our ancestors from the Azores Islands.The SIG meets on the 3rd Wednesday from 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Danville Family History Center, 2949 Stone Valley Road, Alamo, California. Members can bring their laptops and we will help each other to reach our goals.

A genealogical conference focusing on the Azores has been planned from September 5 through September 9, 2016. The conference will include lectures, computer lab time, one-on-one guided research, and time for general research in the Family History Library (FHL) in Salt Lake City. Lecture topics include computer databases as well as basic techniques for beginners. The FHL has church and civil records from Portugal and the U.S.. The conference includes a conference packet (on CD), and personal assistance.
